"I think they're taking me along for the ride," Coates said.
"I think they're a good squad of players who know what to do ... my job is just to try and help them out."
Coates said he and his player "complimented each other". "And it just works; everyone's doing what they need to do."
O'Keefe, Mushies' president, is the latest recipient of Northern NSW Football's volunteer of the month award. Coates said O'Keefe "turns up" in every match.
